Islamabad: Malik Riaz meets Senior Journalists in a bid to implicate CJ's son, Arslan Chaudary in a major corruption scam, sources say.

Islamabad: Business tycoon, Malik Riaz has met senior journalists in Islamabad in a bid to implicate Chief Justice (CJ) Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry’s son, Arslan Chaudary in a major corruption scam, sources say.
Sources told saach.tv Tuesday on condition of anonymity that Malik Riaz provided purported evidence against CJ’s son to senior journalists of the country’s leading news group, allegedly including Najam Sethi, Kamran Khan, Hamid Mir and Shaheen Sehbai.
Shaheen Sehbai, group editor of The News, appeared in an internet video, confirming that at least two of the above mentioned journalists were cognizant of the alleged scandal.
President Asif Ali Zardari’s close aide, Faisal Raza Abidi allegedly provided some of the insights into the purported scandal to the media.
The journalists were allgedly told that Arsalan Chaudary went on foreign visits to London and France where stayed in five-star hotels, while the payment for the trips was made through the financial accounts of Malik Riaz’s son, Ali Riaz, sources added.
It is important to mention that Chief Justice of Pakistan had ordered to repatriate and indict Ali Riaz, who was accused in the Bahria Town drag car race incident.
Political aspect
Amidst speculations that evidence pertaining to corruption scam against CJ’s son can surface anytime, sources said that major stakeholders in Pakistan’s political setup were spearheading the campaign against Arslan Chaudhry.
When contacted by saach.tv, senior leader of Pakistan Peoples Party, Faisal Raza Abidi said that he will be arriving in Islamabad in a couple of days and revealing the corruption of Chief Justice’s son. “Please tell the nation that I was the first person to expose the dubious character of CJ’s son Arslan Chaudhry,” he said.
Credible sources, on condition of anonymity, said that Chief Justice’s son could have been trapped by political forces in order to compel the Supreme Court to exercise judicial restraint in cases involving the executive branch of the state.
Sources added that leader of lawyers’ movement, Aitzaz Ahsan was playing a leading role to gross over the controversy involving Chief Justice’s son.
Judiciary and Bahria Town
Last year, Chief Justice of Pakistan, Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudary had ordered inquiry into alleged land-grabbing by Pakistan Army’s Defence Housing Authority (DHA) and Malik Riaz’s Bahria Town.
A judicial report concluded that DHA and Bahria Town were involved in massive land grabbing and encroachment under the nose of the country’s regulators and police.
The inquiry report concluded that three leading property developers, including Bahria Town and DHA, illegally seized around 30,000 kanals (3750 acres) of land using private militias. The criminal activities of the groups were perpetrated in connivance with police, revenue department and lower judiciary, the report added.
Sources claimed that Malik Riaz of Bahria Town has been rendering bribes of billions of rupees to renowned politicians, military officials, and even journalists in a bid to perpetuate his activities with complete impunity.
It is noteworthy that recently a senior anchorperson, while talking to saach.tv, claimed that Malik Riaz had given a “precious car” as bribe to a renowned television journalist. Another anchorperson claimed that Riaz had gifted a sumptuous villa in Dubai to a famous host of a leading television channel.
