12-Jun-2012 The brothers of Shakir Ali, who is currently a member of the Central Election Cell, were at their shop in Shershah market when unidentified men had given them a slip demanding extortion money.
Heraat Ali and Zakir Ali had refused to give the men the extortion money. The unidentified men opened fire on them after the refusal.
Heerat Ali was killed and Zakir Ali was injured as a result of the firing.
It has been reported that panic started to spread in different areas of the city after the incident.
Businesses and markets in Shershah, Gulberg, North Nazimabad and Nazimabad have been reported to be partially closed.
